Register now for the VELUX Daylight Academic Forum on 2 May 2017 at Technische Universität Berlin. Through the Academic Forum, held in connection with the VELUX Daylight Symposium, PhD students can receive constructive feedback on their daylight research while establishing and strengthening their academic and professional network.

Each PhD attendee will receive a significant session devoted to their research including strategic discussions with senior researchers. These sessions focus on the aims and methods of research, instead of the results, so the student can improve their outcomes. The Academic Forum ensures accessibility by removing all registration/admittance fees and offering a relaxed atmosphere so the students can collaborate readily and have a productive dialogue around their work.

Students can submit abstracts to thedaylightsite@velux.com before 17 February 2017.

How is the Academic Forum different than a conference?

The Daylight Academic Forum is designed to overcome the limitations of conferences by:

  • Providing each student with a significant session that is devoted mostly to critical discussion with invited senior researchers and fellow students
  • Focusing on the aims and methods of research, not the results
  • Making attendance to the Daylight Academic Forum accessible to many students from around the world by having no registration or admittance fee

How will you benefit?

By attending the Daylight Academic Forum you will:

  • Meet and network with fellow PhD students working with daylight as their main topic
  • Receive constructive feedback from a group of international researchers, fellow students and have the opportunity to sharpen your research project
  • Have the opportunity to join in the full VELUX Daylight Symposium programme to experience the Symposium presentations, as well as viewpoints from the engineering and architectural practice as well as policy makers
